Meet our Director

Janice is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and a Florida Certified Special Education Teacher with over 17 years experience teaching children and young adults with a variety of special needs. Prior to completing her master’s degree in Behavioral Psychology, Janice served for five years as the lead teacher in an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), “Verbal Behavior” classroom– an intensive language, communication, and behavior-based classroom for young children with autism or autistic-like characteristics. Following her classroom experience, she worked in Putnam County Schools as a Behavior Specialist, where she was responsible for conducting Functional Behavior Assessments,

developing Behavior Implementation Plans, training and supervising teachers in the “Verbal Behavior” classrooms, monitoring programs for students with autism, and offering parent training, liaison and support services. Janice is an experienced speaker and has presented seminars and workshops for parents, teachers and other professionals in the public school setting, as well as for professional peer-review audiences. She is an instructor for on-going Exceptional Student Education teacher certification courses (PDA-ESE) offered through the North-East Florida Educational Consortium (NEFEC). An approved Medicaid-Waiver provider through the Agency for Persons with Disabilities and an Early Intervention provider through the Early Steps Program, Children’s Medical Services, Janice currently works in private practice with families, schools, group homes, adult day training centers, and childcare facilities.
